The Most Magical Place on Earth

Mommy's entire family (except for Cousin Cole) went to Walt Disney World for Columbus Day Weekend. It was Graham's and Lindy's first time to go. The rest of the family had been planning the trip for around a year and we just decided last minute in August to join them. We had a lot of reservations about taking a 20 month old to Disney, but we're glad we went! Graham LOVED the characters, the parades, and the fireworks. He rode a lot of the rides and did not seem to get scared except in Snow White. We had ridden several rides by that point so we're not sure if he was finally learning what to anticipate or if it was just scarier than Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion.

Here's a run down of our first day. We went to the Magic Kingdom. We actually were there when the park opened and got to see all of the characters ride in on the train and do a little number for the opening. The first thing we rode was Dumbo. Graham seemed neither excited nor scared but he would talk about Dumbo whenever we passed by it after that and say he wanted to ride it again (we never made it back). We then met up with Lindy to ride some rides. He really liked Mickey's Philharmagic even though he wouldn't wear the 3D glasses! It did rain off and on that day. We also rode It's a Small World and Peter Pan. We put our name on the list at a tavern in Liberty Square and then went to see Mickey and Minnie at the Theatre. Mommy and Daddy were really upset that we did not have the camera on video. Graham went straight to Mickey and held up his arms for him to pick him up. He gave both Minnie and Mickey hugs. By the time we got back to the tavern, it was almost time for our name (it had been a 75 minute wait). It was probably the best food we had on the entire trip (pot roast). We got an ornament for our Christmas tree and headed back to the room for a nap.
