Crawling!

Graham has been trying to crawl for the last few months but today he actually started crawling! It is surprising in a way because he has been very sick the last few days, but he just started out of the blue. He is also pulling up on his knees. Life as we know it is officially over!

First Piggy Bank and Other Sweetness

Here are some pictures I took of Graham last week with his first piggy bank along with a few others.

Why babies are not supposed to sleep with a blanket

Due to Graham's frequent spit up issues and a stomach virus this past week, we have been putting down a blanket for him to play on. It saves our carpet and his knees while he is learning to crawl. He had never realized it was a blanket until today and he rolled himself up in it while playing.

Good bye to Uncle Alan

Uncle Alan is going to school in Montana for 3 years so Great Aunt Gayle hosted a lovely dinner for all of us in her wonderful home. Graham got to meet Great Aunt Gayle and Great Uncle Gerald for the first time. Poor thing was recovering from a stomach virus and spit up an entire bottle all over her living room so she probably won't want to host us again! (Again, we are so sorry about that!!) Still, dinner was delicious, especially the homemade ice cream, and fun was had by all. Thanks for having us Great Aunt Gayle! We'll miss you Uncle Alan and look forward to seeing you at Christmas!

6 Month Check-up

Graham went for his 6 month check-up yesterday. He weighed 16 lbs 1 oz and was 26.5 inches long. That is 40th percentile on weight and 60th percentile on height. He was such a good baby and didn't even cry when the pricked his finger or again when the pricked his heel because they didn't get enough the first time. Shots were a different story though. =) We can move to stage 2 foods twice a day and in a month or so cheerios and puffs!

Tricycle outfit

This cute outfit was one of the first smocked outfits that Mommy bought for Graham and he is just now getting to wear it. He wore it to church yesterday and out to lunch.

Sitting up and wanting to crawl

These pictures were taken yesterday. Graham is just now sitting up on his own (when placed in that position). He is still a little unstable. =) The piano is another new toy. Since he loves to pat things, mommy thought he may like to hit the keys. He also wants to crawl very badly, but has only managed to scoot backwards a few times. He can also turn in circles.

Graham is also starting to babble more. Now instead of crying, he often fusses at us repeating the same syllable over and over in an unhappy tone. This past weekend the syllable was "da." He doesn't seem to associate it to his daddy yet, but whenever he was unhappy would rattle off a series of "da-da-da-da." Today's letter seems to be B. He was practicing while he was eating and mommy got a shower of peas.

Six Months Old

My sweet baby is six months old today! It is hard to believe...in some ways it doesn't seem possible that he is that old and in others life before Graham seems like eons ago. We are so blessed and Graham is the perfect addition to our family. It is amazing to think about how much he has grown in the past 6 months and what all he can do now. He really is an angel baby and usually very happy. His schedule is getting more and more regular. When we pick him up at daycare, we bring him home and feed him baby food. He then plays for a little while and gets a bath. Then it is time for a bottle and bed. He is usually asleep between 7 and 7:30. If he is awake at 8 pm, that is a late night for him. He sleeps through the night and usually wakes up between 5 and 6 a.m. He eats; then he plays for a little while and then takes another nap until Mommy gets him ready for daycare. He also usually falls asleep on the way home from daycare and we have to wake him up to feed and play with him. Once, he fell asleep on the way home and slept until the next morning! Now we just make him wake up for his nighttime rituals.

I know some people celebrate half-birthdays with half a cake or cupcakes, but we decided to give Graham a present instead. I could tell he was getting bored with his toys at home so we surprised him with a barn. He loved it! It plays his favorite song - "Old McDonald Had a Farm." He loved opening and closing the gate, and he loved all of the songs that it plays. I think once he is a little more mobile, he will really have fun with it.

Also, this is the first size 9 month outfit he has worn.
