First Big Boy Shoes

Graham got his first pair of big boy shoes today. Actually, he got two pairs. We have to have hard soled shoes now that we are moving up to Busy Bees and will be going on the playground. Mommy took her camera thinking she'd get cute pictures of his foot being measured for the first time, etc. However, the rest of the entire city decided to buy shoes for their kids today so that tiny little shoe store was packed and it felt more like a visit to the New York Stock Exchange. Now, I've never been to the stock exchange, but I've seen movies and today's chaos is what I imagine it must be like. OK, so maybe I am exaggerating a little, but you get the point. I felt very rushed and totally missed the sales person putting the first pair of shoes on him while trying to browse. Luckily, I am pleased with our purchases and think they will look cute with most daycare outfits. We also learned that a child's foot grows about half a size every 3 months or so and that they think a lot of those tiny little shoes. We realized that all the money we will save when we move from formula to milk will now go to buy shoes. But, it's worth it. =)

Graham also tried whole organic milk for the first time today. He tried it in a sippy cup and didn't seem to like it, but would drink the same milk from a bottle. We met his new teacher on Friday and she says that once he moves up to the other class and sees his friends using a sippy cup, that he will probably do it soon.

We took some pictures in his cute overalls before we went shoe shopping. Somehow we managed not to get a picture of him in his navy shoes. The brown ones don't look that cute with this outfit, but keep in mind, they are primarily for daycare.

Movin' on Up

Mommy got a call today from the daycare saying that they want to move Graham up to Busy Bees. It is exciting and sad at the same time. Both Mommy and the daycare are concerned about Graham not using the sippy cup yet, but basically another baby is coming in on January 31 so Graham can take his bottles with him if he isn't quite ready. Busy Bees means all table food, whole milk, and sleeping on a cot with a nap mat. Best of all, it means Mommy and Daddy can leave their shoes on when they drop him off! We also think not having to take food or bottles to daycare will be life altering.

In other news, Graham has two new teeth for a total of 12 and you can see more coming in!

Graham has been such a pleasant baby today and so much fun! He tried on spring clothes without a fuss and then went out to dinner with Mommy and Daddy. We decided to embrace the fact that he will soon only be eating table food and ordered him his first kids meal at a restaurant. (Plus Mommy wasn't very hungry so it worked out perfectly.) Here's a picture of Graham with his pizza. We pulled off the cheese and cut it in tiny pieces. He ate it like a champ. He behaved pretty well and waved at everyone around us.

11 months old!

Graham turned 11 months on January 2. It is amazing how much bigger he seems in the last two weeks. He is walking everywhere and gets into everything! He is also eating more and more table food. Today at daycare, he had pizza, green beans, and oranges.

Happy New Year!

Graham would not leave his new year hat on long enough for a picture. In a way it is sad to see 2010 go since that is the year Graham was born, but we look forward to 2011 and all the new things it will bring. We wish all of our friends and loved ones a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!

Here's Graham in his Rockin' New Years Eve pajamas. He stayed with Nana and Papa while Mommy and Daddy went to a movie in Cullman. Oh yeah - we're big time!
