Turtles and Fishies

We learned last month that Graham can say the word "turtle." He points them out in books and we got him some to go with his Noah's Ark that he loves. Well, last weekend he got to see a real turtle in the back yard! Here are some pictures of Daddy showing Graham the turtle. (Mommy would not let them touch.)

Graham has a new favorite movie too...Finding Nemo. And guess what...there are turtles in it! He sat fairly still and watched it one night and still sits pretty still to watch it. Mommy tried to teach him to say Nemo but he keeps saying "Nelmo"and just calls them all "fishies." It is fun to watch it with him because if something bad happens, he says "Uh-oh!" and laughs at the funny parts too.

A boy and his (stuffed) dog

One morning while getting ready for work, I saw this sight and thought it was so cute that I had to take a picture. Graham was watching TV while holding Boone, his stuffed dog.

Graham has also developed an obsession for Blaze, UAB's mascot. One night before bed, Daddy got out the Blaze that Mommy got in college that is also a puppet to show Graham. Graham seemed to think that he was real and was fascinated but also seemed a little scared. Mommy was worried he'd have nightmares about dragons. However, after that he often talks about "Baze" and wants to get him out of his closet. So we went in search of a new stuffed Blaze that he could play with...long story, we ended up with the smaller one Daddy won in college and he loves it!

Graham still loves Elmo too...

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Daddy celebrated his birthday this week so last weekend we went to a Mexican restaurant to get one of his favorite cakes, Tres Leches. They had a nice garden for pictures. Graham had fun throwing pennies into the fountain to make a wish. =)

Happy Birthday, Daddy! We love you!

UAB Football is here!

UAB had its first game of the season this past Saturday. We won't talk about the results, but they still have the cutest little fan around. Graham has learned to say Blaze or "Baze."

Graham likes watching football with his Daddy, especially when the mascots are on TV. Anytime a game is on, he points to the TV and screams "football!" He is also saying more sentences. Most often we hear "It's a ____". Fill in the blank with whatever he sees and he says this sentence over and over. =)

He got this cute little football outfit from his uncles back in February for his birthday.

19 Months Old

Graham turned 19 months old on September 2. He continues to amaze us with the words he is learning. He has learned several new animals and can now say some of the animals that he only previously made their sound. He is also recognizing shapes and associating them with things. Anything that is round is often called a "ball." A lot of dogs are called Dixie or Mac which are the names of dogs that belong to family members. He especially talks about Dixie all of the time! He has been saying Papa for a while but has recently started calling Nana "Nan-ee". He can also say the name of his cousin, Lindy.

Also, recently we have been telling him to say he's sorry if he does something that is not nice. We realized that he made a sign when we told him that. He must have to say it a lot at school!

Graham loves to sit in someone's lap and read books. If you are lying down instead of sitting up, he will sit on you in absence of a lap! He even sat in Lindy's lap recently...she seemed kinda surprised. =)

Due to the beginning of football season, Graham is running around shouting "football!" He also loves the toy football Nana got for free somewhere. Here's some pictures of him in his new school shoes with his football. He can throw it pretty good too! He was sick for over a week and may look a little puny in these pictures.
